Whoever says the bible is not a book of science isn’t reading it enough
The bible is the most scientific book ever written. Many of the ‘modern scientific concepts’ we know about our universe today were mentioned by the bible often years before they became ‘obvious scientific facts’. Let’s see a few of these concepts.
Earth is NOT flat but a CIRCLE:
700 years before Jesus, 2,200 years before Galileo, when everybody thought the world was flat — the book of Isaiah mentioned that earth was a CIRLCE. The LORD sits above the CIRCLE of the earth (Isaiah 40:22).
Earth sits in EMPTY SPACE:
2,000 years before Jesus, 3,500 years before the invention of the modern telescope, the book of Job mentions that earth sits upon nothing (empty space). The LORD hangs the earth upon nothing (Job 26:7).
Big BANG:
3,600 years before Newton invented calculus, long before the theory of ‘big bang’ was conceived, the book of Job mentions that the universe and the water in it burst forth as if from a womb.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.
Who determined its measurements — surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?
On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors.” (Job 38:4–8).
Time is RELATIVE:
1500 years before Jesus, 3500 years before Albert Einstein, the Book of Psalms mentions that to God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day — in other words, to God time is relative. A thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night (Psalms 90:4). The Book of Peter mentions it more clearly — with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8). Albert Einstein mentions in his theory of relativity that depending on motion, you experience time differently. In other words, having the God-like ability to move fast and be everywhere at the same time (being omnipresent), means time would be fluid for that traveler. You can understand why to the Creator, time would be relative.
The NATURE, FABRIC and FOUNDATION of SPACE:
2000 years before Jesus, 3900 years before Max Plank; the book of Job mentions that the universe has a stretchable foundation upon which earth and matter sits. It further describes the nature of this foundation — first, it is stretchable like an elastic fabric (ever expanding), secondly it is carefully measured (deterministic).

The LORD, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth.

The LORD, created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth.

Conclusion:
Whoever says the bible is not a book of science isn’t reading it enough.
Any ‘modern scientific thinking’ that is contrary to biblical Christian teaching is bound to be proven wrong by the word of God — it’s just a matter of time. The word of God always proves true.
